Yacon Syrup

The yacon root (Smallanthus sonchifolius) has been a part of traditional South American diets for hundreds of years. Genesis Today’s Yacon Syrup is extracted from the Ancient Andean yacon root and developed by nutritionists to add a boost of natural sweetness to the foods you love.

Yacon Syrup has a consistency like molasses with a deep, rich flavor similar to that of fig. Add it to coffee, tea, smoothies, salad dressings, baked goods, raw desserts or any other recipe calling for a touch of sweet!

Yacon Syrup is a natural sweetener extracted from the sweet yacon root of South America.

The yacon plant is traditionally grown in the northern and central Andes from Colombia to Northern Argentina. It is also sometimes planted along field borders where the juicy roots offer refreshment for workers in the field. Due to its sweetness, yacon is also known as Peruvian ground apple. The leaves of the yacon can also be made into a tea.*
